- High optical-damage thresholds—5x our LiNbO3 versions
- Resonant designs with large modulation depths
- Easy optical alignment
?Our line of KTP electro-optic modulators offer optical damage thresholds of more than five times that of our LiNbO3 modulators. These modulators achieve high efficiency for high modulation depths, too. As with all of our modulators, these modulators have low insertion losses and extremely low unwanted residual amplitude modulation. And, using them is easy: simply pass the beam through pre-aligned mechanical apertures for the optimal optical performance.

?KTP Broadband (Non-Resonant) Modulators to 250 MHz
Models 4062 & 4064
These models can operate over a broad range of frequencies—from 0.1 to 250 MHz. The Model 3211 broadband-modulator drivers (?Broadband-Modulator Drivers) can be used to drive these modulators in the 0.1-to-0.6-MHz range.

?KTP Resonant Modulators to 250 MHz
Models 4061 & 4063
These devices use a patented resonant tank circuit to maximize power transfer from driver to crystal, thereby maximizing the voltage across the crystal. These built-in resonant circuits lower required drive voltages by a factor of nearly ten. To optimize performance at every frequency, these modulators are built with fixed components, so they are only slightly tunable around the resonant frequency. If your needs change, we can replace the resonant circuit for a modest fee. The Model 3363 resonant-
modulator drivers can be used to drive these modulators (see ?Resonant-Modulator Drivers).

?KTP Resonant Modulators from 0.6 to 2.0 GHz
Models 4461 & 4463
With these modulators, the crystal is placed in a microwave cavity that is designed to resonate at the particular frequency you specify when ordering. A tuning slug allows adjustment of the resonant frequency over a range of 250 MHz or greater. The Model 3363 resonant-modulator drivers can be used to drive these modulators (see?Resonant-Modulator Drivers).
