Model Description

The DC 10000 consists of the cascaded VKL 10 E dilution systems which are configured together in a dilution cascade. The dilution cascade has an aerosol inlet and four aerosol outlets to which the relevant aerosol measuring devices, such as optical particle counters (OPC) according to ISO12501-4 or optical aerosol spectrometers (OAS), are connected.

Depending on which aerosol outlet is connected to the relevant measuring system, the defined dilution factors 1:10; 1:100; 1:1,000 or 1:10,000 are achieved.

The DC 10000 can be used up to a particle size of approx. 5 µm.

Optionally the DC 10000 can also be operated with oil-free and particle-free compressed air.

The dilution principle itself is the same as with the VKL dilution systems, even if four VKL 10 E systems are cascaded wit the DC 10000.

Functional principle

Particle-free air with the volume flow VR circulates through an annular passage around the suction nozzle. Thus, according to Bernoulli, a volume flow VAn is generated at the suction nozzle.
